Game, Set, Match:
Brightline Lights Up Open
for 5th Consecutive Year |
|
SEPTEMBER 10, 2006 BRIDGEVILLE, PA--Brightline may be the only “player” at the US Open with a streak longer than that of newly crowned champion Roger Federer. While the Swiss-born Federer used his unparalleled technique and precision to win the men’s title for the third year in a row, this year’s Open in Flushing Meadows, NY marked the fifth consecutive year that Brightline’s superior technology has been selected to light the broadcast of America’s premier international tennis event. With long-time Brightline integrator Shadowstone, Inc. ( Hackensack, NJ) once again coordinating the lighting equipment and services for CBS Sports, the top-level play on the courts was matched by the performance of Brightline’s SeriesONE systems in the broadcast booths of the National Tennis Center’s Arthur Ashe, Louis Armstrong, and Grandstand stadiums. Shadowstone specified a combination of one-, two-, and four-lamp SeriesONE fixtures for the booths, an outdoor interview set in the main plaza, and the famous hallway leading from the players’ locker room to the courts. The low-heat, energy-efficient fixtures helped both nervous players and CBS announcers such as ex-Open-champion John McEnroe--known to blow a fuse or two on his own during his playing days--to stay cool and comfortable under the pressures of the moment. All fixtures were lamped at daylight color temperature to provide viewers with a seamless transition between the various open-air sets and the action of the matches.
The choice of SeriesONE advanced fluorescent lighting systems to enhance CBS’s coverage of the Open is merely the latest manifestation of the fact that--whatever the size and shape of the
ball--“Brightline Knows Sports.” With satisfied clients ranging from MLB and FIFA to the NFL, NBA, PGA, and NCAA, the word has gone out that Brightline in the booth, studio, or press-conference room is a big step toward a winning broadcast.
