ALR to Rep Brightline in West
Leading Agency Develops Northern California, Nevada Markets

MAY 15, 2006

BRIDGEVILLE, PA--Continuing its recent push to enhance the company’s sales profile in the Western U.S. market, Brightline has reached an agreement with Associated Lighting Representatives, Inc. (ALR) encompassing full-line representation of Brightline products in northern California and Nevada. Founded in 1961 as a two-person operation representing a few small lighting firms, ALR has become one of the preeminent sales agencies in the United States, with more than 80 employees, three offices (Oakland, Sacramento, and Reno), and a linecard featuring the industry’s leading manufacturers of lighting and controls. ALR will handle the entire gamut of Brightline products including SeriesONE fixtures for broadcast studio applications, T-Series fixtures for videoconferencing, and CycSeries and SeriesTWO color-changing systems for cyclorama, decorative-interior, and building-effects lighting. Brightline will also benefit from the forward-thinking philosophy and extensive contacts of ALR’s sister company, Associated Network Systems Representatives (ANSR), which represents manufacturers of specialty audio, video, integration, and networking devices as the market for these products continues to move away from retailers toward contractors.

Ward Fulcher, a key member of ALR’s Commercial A/V and Lighting Controls Integration divisions, states that “as a large, 45-year-old lighting agency with a major emphasis on our controls and A/V business, we're very enthusiastic about teaming up with Brightline. The approach of ALR/ANSR to today's market is to promote the highest level of integration possible, from the design process through installation and commissioning. Brightline provides us with exciting tools for the specification and facilities markets, offering quality solutions to videoconferencing, distance-learning, stage and studio, and ‘archetainment’ applications, along with the team energy to put these tools to work.”

According to Brightline managing partner Kathy Katz, “ALR’s innovative, employee-owned structure and egalitarian operating principles make it a very interesting company. Everything we’ve seen over the years indicates that ALR provides excellent service to its customers. ALR also seems to be very adept and responsive to the ways in which the functions and responsibilities of a manufacturers’ rep can change as markets evolve in new directions. It’s a company I’ve admired for a long time, and I know that our Western Regional Sales Manager, Tim Baca, is especially enthusiastic about this opportunity to work together with ALR to further develop our business in the West.”
